Italy: mandatory cross-border invoice reporting

In 2019, Tungsten Network successfully implemented the Italian e-invoicing mandate, which allowed suppliers to send domestic invoices through the Italian e-invoicing platform, the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) to buyers.

In early 2021, Tungsten Network began to analyse requirements relating to an extension of this mandate, relating the obligation to report cross-border invoices to the SdI.

The obligation to report these invoices is optional until 30 June 2022. It became mandatory to report all cross-border invoices to the SdI from 1st July 2022.

Since February 2022, well ahead of schedule, Tungsten has been assisting suppliers and buyers report their sales and purchase invoices to the SdI.

This means Tungsten is not changing anything from a product or system perspective when reporting of cross border invoices becomes obligatory – we already have a robust and efficient solution in place to help you report your cross-border invoices to the SdI. If you are not sure you have this requirement covered, Tungsten can provide a solution to report your cross-border invoices to the SdI, whether this be to report your sales or purchase invoices, to the SdI.
